UTTRANCHAL- AYURVEDA - THE LIFE

Introduction:

Ayurveda or the “Science of life” has been practiced in Indian since the ancient Vedic period. With its unique focuses on the traditional Indian sciences, the knowledge has been preserved in its purity, particularly in the Himalayan region, where family traditions of expertise have persisted and the climatic conditions have been optimum for growing a wide variety of herbs and medicinal plants for the treatments. Ayurveda focuses on maintaining a healthy life by rejuvenating the body through various means of de-stressing, detoxifying, cleansing, deep relaxation, anti-aging, weight and inch loss and so on. Ayurveda is also prevention oriented, and fulfils the growing necessity for a system of medicine that is scientific, completely natural and truly holisticas well as uniquely empowering, because it allows you to get back in touch with your own innate healing potential.

On this tour we guide you on how to maximize your energies, while you travel in the Himalayan foothills, listening to singing birds and rejuvenating your body and mind, with un-spoilt nature and eternal peace. We end the tour with a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal – a marble wonder in Agra.

Details:

Day 1: Arrive Delhi:

Upon your arrival in Delhi, from your home country, you are met at the airport by our representative who then assists and escorts you to your pre booked hotel situated in the city.

Day 2: Delhi to Haridwar (Evening):
Breakfast at the hotel.
 
The day includes a sightseeing tour across the grand old city of Shah Jehan. We visit the Red Fort and then take a rickshaw ride across the by-lanes to the spectacular Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India. After the sightseeing we will drive to the railway station to board our train to Haridwar. We arrive in Haridwar and transfer to the hotel.

Day 3: Haridwar to Rishikesh:
Breakfast at the hotel.

We will visit the various temples including The Mansa Devi Temple and Hari-ki –Pauri ghats in the morning. Later we will drive on a small distance of 35 kilometers to Rishikesh. We arrive in Rishikesh and transfer to a Hindu Ashram on the banks of River Ganga. Here we will stay for the night and get oriented with the Ayurveda and its treatments in the center.

Day 4: Rishikesh to Shivpuri:
Breakfast at the hotel.

We will stay at the Ashram for the day going through various programs and later drive to Shivpuri to stay at a nature camp. After welcome drink and acclimatization briefing, we take a short walk in the reserve forest.

Day 5: In Shivpuri:
Breakfast at the camp resort.


Early morning wake up for a Yoga class followed by relaxation of body & mind. After yogic breakfast, drive to Byasi / Kaudiyala to start the rafting upto Shivpuri. Arrive at Byasi for a briefing on safety, raft manoeuvering, team spirit development etc. Today we exercise team work and hit the most exciting rapids on Ganges. We arrive at our camp at noon and take time for leisure activities and rest. Evening will be spent in meditation and relaxation at the camp resort.

Day 6: In Shivpuri:

Today we rise early in the morning and drive to Hindolkal to start a short trek to Kunjapuri. The one hour trek goes through thick forest till we reach the top of Kunjapuri. After exploring the area for some time join the class for Asanas, relaxation & meditation. We will also Witness the sunrise on the Greater Himalayan peaks and afterwards trace your steps back to camp resort.

Day 7: Shivpuri to Delhi (Rafting and departure)

Morning will be psent in some yoga classes and some sessions helping in order to see the change in personality during the course. After breakfast we raft down the Gange to Rishikesh and then drive to Haridwar to board the evening train to Delhi.

Day 8: Delhi to Agra: (203 km / 4/5 hrs drive):
Breakfast at the hotel.


After breakfast we drive to the beautiful and architectural city of Agra. The city of Agra was transformed into the imperial second capital city by the Mughal monarch Akbar and later again by Shah-Jehan. Today a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices, of red sandstone and white marble, narrow alleys and quaint bazaars. It is hardly surprising that modern Agra still reflects its Mughal heritage most conspicuously. The day here will begin with a walk down the narrow bustling streets of the city and a lunch at the local restaurant with a wafting aroma of the Mughlai cuisine. This afternoon you will visit the Agra fort. Built by the famed Mughal Emperor, Akbar in 1565 AD, the fort is predominantly of red sandstone. Ensconced within is the picture perfect Pearl Mosque as well as numerous palaces and water fountains neatly laid and well planned with water channels. The day will be wrapped up at the Agra fort as you watch the glowing sunset with a back drop of the Taj Mahal at the distance.

Day 9: Agra to Delhi and Departure:

Morning and early afternoon will be spent in a visit that truly enchants you with the architectural splendor of the Taj Mahal. Little needs to be said about this wonder which has always been an exotic experience for every tourist's visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen. We later depart for Delhi, arriving in the evening and transferring to the city hotel for wash-n-change and dinner. After a well spent hour and a half we will drive to the airport for your flight home.
